Taqueria El Fogon

There are well over 100 places to find a taco in the area, so competition between them has been the focus of several contests. This year, Taqueria El Fogon made it to the top four with their amazingly delicious and unique tacos. Named, al pastor, or tacos al pastor, these tacos are made with spit-grilled pork and are the result of Lebanese immigrants to Mexico combining their technique for cooking lamb shawarma with the traditional Mexican marinade adobada. What became a popular street food in Mexico has spread to the United States, and here in Wichita can be found at two locations. South: 1555 S Bluffview Dr. 681.0969, and North: 2604 N Arkansas 208.9217. Both locations open Tuesday–Sunday 10 am–10 pm.
